Summary: The role of Functional Consultant involves supporting a client in the final stages of their Dynamics 365 Business Central implementation, focusing on finance function gaps prior to go-live. The consultant will work closely with the Finance Controller and finance team to refine system setup, ensure alignment with accounting processes, and deliver training to end users. This hands-on position requires expertise in Business Central's finance modules and a solid understanding of accounting principles. The goal is to ensure a smooth transition and user adoption of the new system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Finance Controller and finance team to finalise system configuration within Business Central
  • Support and optimise key finance areas including: Export banking files, General Ledger (GL), Deposits, Fixed Assets
  • Identify and resolve gaps in the current finance setup ahead of go-live
  • Provide hands-on guidance and training to finance users on system functionality
  • Ensure the system is configured in line with accounting best practices and business needs
  • Support user adoption and confidence in using Business Central

Key Skills:

  • Strong experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central (Finance modules)
  • Proven ability to configure Business Central to meet finance requirements
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles within Business Central
  • Experience working closely with finance stakeholders (e.g. Finance Controller, transactional teams)
  • Ability to deliver clear, practical user training
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Desirable: Fully or part-qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA / CIMA / ACA)

Job Profile

They have identified key gaps within their finance function and require an experienced Business Central Finance Consultant to support the final build, configuration, and user readiness ahead of go-live. This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with the Finance Controller and transactional finance team to refine system setup, ensure alignment with accounting processes, and deliver targeted training to end users.
