Summary: The Full Stack Python Developer role is a 3-month contract position with a public sector organization, offering a competitive daily rate and requiring a hybrid working model in London. The position demands extensive experience in Python and various web development technologies, with a focus on delivering high-quality software solutions. The developer will work within an agile team, contributing to decision-making and ensuring adherence to coding standards. This role is classified as outside IR35, allowing for greater flexibility in contract arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work in an agile software development team to deliver functionality and enhancements
- Contribute to the decision-making process using your technical knowledge and understanding of the systems in use
- Take responsibility for the code base of applications, setting standards and expectations of developers to ensure high quality and adherence to associated standards and helping them to meet them through code reviews and learning opportunities
- Develop appropriate strategies or policies to support the use of emerging technologies and systems
- Help manage front- and back-end web resources ensuring high quality and adherence to associated standards and compliance
- Establish partnerships/constructive relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders and actively develops and maintains these
- Develop and implement impact/risk assessments of new digital services and systems
- Carry out regular research to ensure that work, technologies and standards are up to date and relevant to industry standards and the needs of the organisation
- Champion Agile ways of working and ensure alignment to the internal Service Standard
Key Skills:
- Extensive Python experience
- Object oriented programming techniques
- Microsoft web development technologies including C# .NET/.NET Core, MVC
- Front end technologies HTML, CSS, SCSS/SASS, JavaScript, TypeScript
- Microsoft SQL Server database technologies, SQL queries and database development
- Knowledge of recognised software development approaches including SOLID, TDD, BDD
- Cloud-based CI/CD integrated DevOps processes
- Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as React/Angular/Vue
- Knowledge of accessibility standards, specifically WCAG
- Relevant recent experience of developing modern web apps using the Microsoft Tech stack
- Experience of working in an Agile software development team and taking part in Agile ceremonies
- Experience of code reviewing
- Experience of developing APIs and API clients to integrate with them
