Summary: The High Income and Alternatives Technology team seeks a dedicated software engineer to develop quality software components for managing substantial investment funds. The role involves engaging with the flagship portfolio construction platform, Alphabet, and contributing to the definition of development practices across teams. Candidates should possess a strong foundation in programming and software design, with a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement. The position emphasizes both independent and team-oriented work in an agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop quality software components for Portfolio Managers and Analysts.
  • Engage with the Alphabet portfolio construction platform.
  • Define and implement development practices, standards, and strategies across teams.
  • Contribute to test automation code and practices.
  • Participate in code and design reviews, and define source control and deployment strategies.
  • Work with product owners and technical leads to influence technical improvements.
  • Deliver high-quality, maintainable software solutions in an agile environment.
  • Investigate and share creative practices with team members.

Key Skills:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years of design and development experience.
  • Proficiency in Java 17 and above, Spring, Spring Reactive, SpringBoot, and RESTful services.
  • Experience with Angular for front-end development.
  • Expertise in Test Automation Tools and Frameworks (e.g., Karate, Cypress, Mockito).
  • Exposure to messaging technologies such as Kafka.
  • Kubernetes/EKS/AWS deployment and operations management experience.
  • Experience with Oracle, JPA, and GraphQL.
  • Financial domain knowledge, particularly in Equities, Fixed Income, or Alternative Asset classes.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and provide technical guidance to the team.
