Summary: The role of Full Stack Developer involves working on Back End development using Java/SpringBoot and Python, specifically within Central Government projects. The position requires a combination of remote work and occasional travel to the client office in Newcastle. Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, including daily stand-ups, estimation, sprint planning, and backlog grooming.
- Develop clean, maintainable and efficient software with high levels of unit testing and automated integration testing.
- Contributing to peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with the UCD design team, Business Analysts, Performance Analysts and development and Quality Assurance colleagues to understand and deliver assigned tasks.
- Adhere to technical development standards and best practices.
- Ask for help when needed and collaborate with team members to resolve issues impacting delivery within your team.
Key Skills:
- A good understanding of SOLID programming principles and TDD.
- Experience with relational (Postgres/JPA) and NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with REST API patterns and OpenAPI specifications.
- Experience with AWS cloud platform.
- Experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions (pipelines).
- Experience with DevOps ways of working.

Full Stack Developer - 3 months+ £500-600pd Outside IR35- Remote with 2/3 days on site per month in Newcastle
My client are looking for a Full stack Developer experienced in Back End development using Java/SpringBoot and Python, who has worked within Central Government on GDS (government digital service Projects).
The client is based in Newcastle and there is an expectation of travel to client office a couple of times per month.
Please do not apply if travel is not possible.
Our technology stack includes SpringBoot micro-services running on Kubernetes in AWS so relevant experience in that is of benefit. Other areas of the programme use Python for AWS Lambdas Typescript/NextJS so fluency or familiarity with either of these would be of additional benefit.
