Summary: The role of SEO Account Director is a senior leadership position focused on developing and executing high-impact SEO strategies for a large electronics client across multiple markets. The director will manage client relationships, mentor team members, and contribute to the agency's commercial growth through new business initiatives. This position requires a strategic mindset and a strong understanding of SEO performance metrics to drive measurable business results. The role is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the global SEO strategy of a large electronics client that expands across 4+ markets.
- Global oversight of SEO performance, working closely with Account Managers to ensure projects stay on track vs timelines, results are on track, and business objectives are being met.
- Producing multiple reports to senior clients, including QBRs, yearly strategy decks, and PCAs.
- Building and nurturing strong senior client relationships, acting as the senior point of escalation for any challenges.
- Proactively using client relationships to seek new business opportunities, working alongside the Business Lead & Managing Partner to drive new business initiatives; producing strong new project proposals, strategy decks and quotes.
- Managing 2 X Account Managers, offering them training and mentorship to help empower them to lead their SEO teams.
- Contributes to commercial growth, including seeking new business opportunities, pitching for new work, and cross-selling SEO capabilities across wider Iris business.
- Staying up to date on latest SEO tech, updates and industry, filtering down to junior members of your team.
- Owning financing (including forecasting), billing and resourcing for the team, ensuring correct utilisation and profitability of team members.
Key Skills:
- 4+ years of hands-on SEO experience in an agency.
- Experience with eCommerce or electronics clients is a huge bonus.
- Experience in building yearly strategies for clients with a proven track record to drive results.
- Strong experience working closely with clients, to better understand their needs and get the best results.
- Experienced directly managing a team of 2+ SEOs.
- Experience with pitching and upselling new and existing business.
- Strong abilities to create and present PowerPoint decks.
- Capable of having difficult conversations with team members and/or clients to overcome blockers or barriers.
- Strong commercial understanding, ability to forecast and have conversations about finance matters.
