What you'll do:
- Oversee and maintain overnight pricing and instrument data feeds to ensure accuracy and timeliness for all trading activities.
- Set up static or market data intraday as required to support ongoing trading operations, ensuring all information is current and reliable.
- Conduct daily reconciliations and review control reporting related to data attributes, positions, valuations, and exceptions to uphold high standards of data integrity.
- Produce or review control reports concerning valuations, reconciliations, and management information reporting to facilitate transparent business processes.
- Contribute actively to the ongoing improvement of the organisation’s data ecosystem by identifying areas for enhancement and implementing best practices.
- Participate in projects and business-as-usual change initiatives within Operations that relate to data management, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
- Review, analyse, and validate monthly custodian fees to ensure accuracy in financial records and compliance with internal controls.
- Engage extensively with investment teams, performance analysts, IT support staff, and other stakeholders to address business requests efficiently and maintain necessary data quality.
- Utilise business systems such as Bloomberg terminals, Excel add-ins, SimCorp Dimension, Charles River, and SQL databases for effective data management tasks.
- Support the delivery of timely solutions for any ad hoc data issues or requests as reasonably required by your manager.
What you bring:
- A minimum of three years’ experience working within the securities industry focused on data management responsibilities is essential for this role.
- Comprehensive understanding of fixed income and equity security attributes enables you to manage complex datasets confidently.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse very large datasets—such as reference indices containing tens of thousands of securities—and identify missing or incorrect information quickly.
- Proficiency with Bloomberg terminals is crucial; you should be comfortable navigating these systems both directly and via Excel add-ins for efficient security lookups.
- Experience with SimCorp Dimension is highly desirable as it supports many core operational processes within the organisation’s investment framework.
- Familiarity with Charles River is considered advantageous for candidates seeking broader exposure across different platforms used by leading investment firms.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are required; you should be adept at using formulas, pivot tables, macros, and other features for sophisticated analysis tasks.
- Strong command of SQL is essential for querying databases effectively and supporting robust data validation procedures across multiple systems.
- Excellent analytical thinking combined with problem-solving abilities allows you to address complex challenges methodically while maintaining attention to detail throughout your work.
- A degree-level education is preferred along with relevant professional qualifications such as IOC or IMC which demonstrate your commitment to ongoing professional development.
