Our client is developing a highly ambitious Enterprise AI Governance Platform — a research-led project at the intersection of artificial intelligence, mathematics, law, ethics, and enterprise technology. The platform sits as a managed gateway between corporate users and external AI providers, applying rigorous, multi-dimensional governance to every AI interaction at scale. The project combines original academic research with practical software engineering, and is preparing for peer-reviewed publication alongside a commercial product launch. This is an early-stage, high-calibre founding team engagement.

The Role

You will be the sole Frontend Developer on the founding team, owning the entire client-side architecture from day one. Working directly with the CEO/CTO, you will design and build a suite of sophisticated operator-facing interfaces: a real-time governance and monitoring dashboard, policy configuration tools, workflow and case management interfaces, knowledge base query UI, and enterprise authentication flows. This is a high-autonomy, high-impact role on a technically demanding product. We are open to both full-time and part-time arrangements for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and build a real-time governance and monitoring dashboard — rich data visualisation, live metrics, alerts, and per-dimension analytics panels.
• Develop policy and configuration management interfaces — complex operator controls for setting rules, thresholds, and behavioural parameters.
• Build case management and workflow interfaces — lifecycle views, decision outcome displays, audit trail records, and multi-party async workflow UIs.
• Implement a knowledge base query and configuration UI — search and browse a structured repository of governance content.
• Integrate with backend REST and WebSocket APIs for real-time updates and streaming data.
• Implement enterprise authentication flows — SAML 2.0, OIDC SSO, and role-based access control views.
• Lead UX decisions in collaboration with the CEO/CTO; work from Figma designs or drive design independently.
• Establish front-end CI/CD pipelines, testing standards, and a reusable component library.

Required Experience & Skills

• React (hooks, context, advanced patterns) — 3+ years production experience.
• TypeScript — strict mode, generics, utility types.
• Node.js — familiarity with build tooling (Vite / Webpack), SSR or BFF patterns.
• State management (Zustand, Redux Toolkit, or React Query) for complex async data.
• Data visualisation — Recharts, D3, or equivalent for real-time dashboard work.
• REST API and WebSocket integration; familiarity with streaming responses.
• Auth patterns — SAML 2.0, OIDC, JWT handling in SPAs.
• Testing — Vitest / Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright or Cypress.
• Experience building enterprise B2B SaaS products with complex role-based UIs.
• Git, GitHub Actions CI/CD, code review discipline.

Desirable / Nice to have

• Experience building AI / LLM product interfaces — streaming token display, prompt editors, agent interaction UIs.
• Familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol) or similar agent-tool integration patterns.
• Data-heavy dashboard experience — compliance, analytics, or monitoring products.
• Design system creation (Radix UI, shadcn/ui, or custom component libraries).
• Interest in or familiarity with AI governance, ethics, or regulatory compliance.
• Python scripting for tooling or data processing tasks.
