Summary: The Front End Web Engineer role at JPMorgan Chase's Nutmeg involves developing and delivering web applications and marketing features within a cross-functional team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver marketing features as part of larger domain-owned epic initiatives.
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to integrate and enhance marketing tracking with existing systems.
  • Design and implement solutions to automate marketing processes and improve data quality.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve existing or newly-identified prioritised defects.
  • Ensure high-quality code through solid testing and adherence to best practices/standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to team discussions/meetings/guilds.
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share ideas/knowledge among peers.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for new features or spike discoveries.
  • Build an understanding of product and technology for owned domain areas.
  • Actively participate in scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning and retrospectives.
  • Consider Accessibility (WCAG), Security, Observability & Performance in all owned applications/deliverables.

  • Demonstrated success in developing customer-focused web applications and single-page applications (SPAs) in a MarTech environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of React and its core principles.
  • Solid grasp of Web fundamentals: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript ES6, General Networking.
  • Proficient with Chrome Developer Tools or browser equivalent.
  • Experience with version control tools (VCS), preferably Git.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive communicator with owned assignments.

Front End Web Engineer (React Web) - JPMorgan Chase /Nutmeg - London - 6 months contract - Hybrid - PAYE

We are seeking a skilled Front End Web Engineer to join Nutmeg, JP Morgan's Digital Wealth Management business, in London on an initial 6 months contract. The ideal candidate will work closely with the bank's web and mobile teams to coordinate and execute a comprehensive uplift of our marketing and data estate.

Role

As part of the team, you will be responsible for the web applications that make Nutmeg run. You will deliver product features end-to-end within a cross functional team made up of Engineering and Product. We have a fully aligned Tech stack across the web ecosystem with a collection of team-owned mono-repos - all powered by an internal React Design system which allows us to deliver at scale. You'll have plenty to learn and will join a friendly and collaborative group of talented engineers who are always willing to discuss/share ideas via various internal or external meetings/guilds/pairing sessions. All of this contributes to our primary focus; to build great user-friendly experiences for our customers.

Job responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver marketing features as part of larger domain-owned epic initiatives.
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to integrate and enhance marketing tracking with existing systems, ensuring seamless data flow to the necessary data destinations and communication between platforms.
  • Design and implement solutions to automate marketing processes, improve data quality, and enhance reporting capabilities as part of the overall digital marketing strategy.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve existing or newly-identified prioritised defects.
  • Ensure high-quality code through solid testing and adherence to best practices/standards.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contribute to team discussions/meetings/guilds.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • A passion for self-development and learning who keeps up to date with the latest Web/React trends and technologies.
  • Experience with marketing automation platforms (e.g., Segment, Amplitude, GTM, Google Analytics) and data analytics tools in general.
  • A good understanding of Google AdTech technologies, affiliations & campaigns such as Floodlight and how they integrate client-side.
  • Feature flagging/AB testing
  • Appreciation/Exposure to React Native
  • Knowledge of other JavaScript frameworks like Angular, Vue, Next.js, Gatsby.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies beyond Scrum.
  • Delivery experience on cloud platforms and familiarity with AWS
  • Experience with Design systems (UI Development, White-labelling)
  • Commercial experience in the Finance industry

*Please note that this role will be initially be working on a hybrid model of 3 days office based and 2 days WFH potentially moving to 5 days onsite in the future.*
