Summary: My client, a large consultancy, is seeking a Front End Engineer for a 6-month contract inside IR35, based in Bristol. The role requires a combination of on-site and remote work, with 3 days on-site and 2 days remote each week. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in React and modern Front End technologies, with a focus on building accessible and testable user interfaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain user interfaces using React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and JestJS.
- Implement modern Front End testing practices and ensure compliance with Accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Build accessible, testable, and scalable user interfaces with a test-first mindset (TDD).
- Collaborate with Backend developers and work with REST APIs and PostgreSQL.
- Engage in DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containers, and Kubernetes.
Key Skills:
- Strong experience in React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and JestJS.
- Knowledge of modern Front End testing practices and Accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Experience in building accessible and scalable user interfaces.
- Test-driven development (TDD) mindset and ability to write automated tests.
- Desirable experience in Backend development with Java/Quarkus.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, PostgreSQL, and DevOps practices.

Front End Engineer

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in React, JavaScript/TypeScript, JestJS and modern Front End testing practices, Accessibility standards (WCAG) and tooling (axe-core).
Primary focus on experienced Frontend Software Engineers, with strong React expertise. Proven experience building accessible, testable, scalable user interfaces. Strong test-first mindset (TDD) and confidence writing automated tests.
The ideal candidate will also, desirably have experience in Backend development with Java/Quarkus, Working with REST APIs and PostgreSQL, DevOps exposure across CI/CD pipelines, containers and Kubernetes, Although not a must-have for the role.
