Summary: The Lead Front End Developer role is a hands-on leadership position focused on delivering modern, scalable web applications. The candidate will be responsible for Front End architecture, mentoring developers, and driving best practices within a high-performing team. This position requires a strong presence on-site in Dunton for four days a week. The contract duration is nine months, starting in mid-April.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the design and development of complex Front End applications
- Building scalable, component-based architectures using React
- Driving engineering best practices across the team (TDD, pair programming, code reviews)
- Mentoring and upskilling developers
- Collaborating closely with product, design, and Back End teams
- Contributing to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes
Key Skills:
- Strong background in Frontend Development
- Expert-level JavaScript and React experience
- Solid skills in HTML & CSS
- Experience with component-based architecture
- Exposure to DevOps practices (CI/CD, version control eg Git)
- Strong experience working in Agile environments (including TDD & pair programming)
- Proven leadership/mentoring experience
- Excellent communication skills

We're looking for an experienced Lead Frontend Developer to join a high-performing team delivering modern, scalable web applications.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll take ownership of Front End architecture, drive best practices, and mentor developers to build best-in-class user experiences.
Please note: This role requires 4 days per week on-site in Dunton - this is non-negotiable.
