Summary: The Front-End Developer role involves designing, building, and maintaining Front End components using JavaScript and CSS while ensuring compliance with accessibility standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build and maintain Front End components using JavaScript, CSS and progressive enhancement
- Ensure all Front End work meets WCAG accessibility standards
- Use and extend the GOV.UK Design System and GOV.UK Frontend
- Collaborate with User Researchers, Service Designers and UX/Interaction Designers
- Contribute to technical decision-making, architectural discussions and Front End best practice
- Apply TDD, pair programming and CI/CD practices
- Build and maintain automated tests using Playwright
- Support DevOps practices including Terraform and continuous delivery pipelines
- Coach or mentor other developers and contribute to the wider engineering community
Key Skills:
- Proficiency in JavaScript and CSS

- Collaboration skills with User Researchers and Designers
