Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain Front End components for a public-sector digital service
  • Develop responsive, accessible user interfaces aligned to GDS
  • Translate designs and prototypes into high-quality, performant Front End code
  • Work closely with content designers and writers to support content-led journeys
  • Collaborate with Back End developers to integrate APIs and services
  • Ensure solutions align with GDS and GOV.UK standards, supporting iterative delivery
  • Contribute to Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement activities

Key Skills:

  • Strong Front End development experience using modern frameworks/libraries, particularly React
  • Proven experience designing and building Front End user interfaces for digital services
  • Strong experience using Figma to interpret designs, prototypes, and design systems
  • Solid understanding of accessibility, usability, and inclusive design principles
  • Experience working within Agile, multidisciplinary delivery teams
  • Strong JavaScript/React skills, with an emphasis on maintainable, reusable code

Requirements: Seeking an experienced Front-End Developer to support the delivery of a public facing government website, aligned to GDS and Gov.UK service standards. The role focuses on building accessible and maintainable user interfaces for content-led digital services.

You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary Agile delivery team, collaborating closely with content designers, content writers, Back End developers, service owners, and delivery leads to deliver high quality outcomes for the end users.
