Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the discovery phase: conducting interviews and workshops with internal colleagues to understand user needs
  • Mapping and simplifying complex access flows across a 100+ page SharePoint hub
  • Designing new landing page experiences and information architecture
  • Creating clear signposting and navigation tailored to different user profiles (from senior leaders to junior staff)
  • Applying UX thinking to help users "find what they don't know they're looking for"
  • Translating research insights into meaningful design improvements
  • Updating SharePoint pages directly (you'll need to be hands-on with the tool)
  • Collaborating closely with research teams and internal stakeholders to gather input and iterate quickly

Key Skills:

  • Strong background in UX design with solid discovery experience
  • Able to simplify complexity and translate business needs into usable structures
  • Comfortable interviewing users and applying insights in Real Time

Duration: 2 months (very good chance to be extended long-term)
Location: London/Newcastle/Winnersh (Berkshire)
Working pattern: Hybrid - 3 days onsite per month (location can be flexible between 3 offices)
IR35 status: Inside IR35 (must use an umbrella company)
Day rate: £350 per day (maximum)

Contract: 5 days a week (full-time)

A SaaS payroll company is looking for a Senior UX Designer to support a key internal tool project during its discovery and design phase. The project focuses on enhancing a SharePoint-based internal insights hub, a tool used by teams across the business to access customer research and strategic insights.
This hub was originally built by a research team, and now needs a UX expert to shape it into a more usable, intuitive and structured experience for internal colleagues of all levels.
