Job Freelance Text-to-Speech Translators for French (Canadian) Position Summary Deluxe localization arm specializes in subtitling, closed captioning and translation services for major motion picture studios, film festivals, broadcast, streaming, and cable networks. We are currently seeking experienced English to French (Canadian) TTS freelance translators. The TTS Post-Editor reviews and re-writes machine-translated materials - both textual and audio - to achieve dialogue for naturalism, readability, and on-screen lip sync without sacrificing original meaning and intention.

Primary requirements:

  • Speaker of the source language English to full professional proficiency (IRL Level 4)
  • Speaker of the target language French (Canadian) to a native level (IRL Level 5)
  • an excellent knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation and ongoing engagement with the language.
  • Cultural sensitivity and extensive understanding of terminological/cultural nuances.
  • Familiarity with and excellent comprehension of a wide variety of dialects and accents for the target language.
  • Full professional proficiency of English for communication purposes (IRL Level 4).
  • 3-5 years of experience in translation, verbatim transcription & post-edit.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Subtitling, Review, editing, proofreading.
  • Experience with various Machine-Translation Tools is a must.
  • 2 years of experience in dubbing industry.
