About Social Spark
Social Spark is a creative marketing consultancy built for the social-first era. We help ambitious brands grow through bold content, strategic storytelling, and data-informed marketing. As we scale, we’re assembling a select team of freelance Social Media Managers to lead client accounts, grow their own income, and build influence—without doing it all alone. This is not a junior execution role. It’s a leadership position for experienced social media freelancers who want to manage client relationships, set the strategic vision, and delegate day-to-day content creation to trusted professionals.
About the Role
As a Freelance Social Media Manager (Associate), you’ll take full ownership of multiple client accounts, guiding their social strategy from brief to execution. You’ll be responsible for client acquisition, research, planning, reporting, and creative direction, acting as the lead point of contact for your clients. You won’t have to shoot, edit, or design everything yourself—our internal team of content creators, videographers, and editors will bring your vision to life. Your role is to lead with strategy, manage the relationship, and ensure excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Strategy & Management
- Act as the main point of contact for your assigned clients
- Lead onboarding, brand discovery, and audience research
- Develop social media strategy aligned with business goals
- Set and maintain brand voice and visual direction (with consultant support)
- Deliver monthly performance reviews and optimisation plans
- Creative Direction & Team Coordination
- Delegate production to internal/freelance content creators, photographers, and editors
- Create or approve content calendars, captions, and visual guidelines
- Collaborate with the marketing consultant to align campaigns across platforms
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality content that performs
- Client Acquisition & Growth
- Bring in your own leads if desired (bonus commission offered)
- Support inbound lead consultations when assigned
- Identify growth opportunities for upsells or cross-platform strategies
Pay Structure & Earning Potential
You’ll be paid per client account, typically ranging from £300 to £1,000+ per month, depending on platform scope and services delivered. Option to earn bonus commission on clients you bring in directly (10% of initial invoice). Workload can scale based on your capacity—take on 1 client or 5+ as desired. You invoice monthly and work under a freelance contract with full flexibility.
Why This Is Better Than Freelancing Alone
Freelancing independently often means doing everything yourself—sales, strategy, captions, design, editing, reporting. That leads to burnout, limited income, and creative stagnation. With Social Spark, you get:
- A trusted professional network to support execution, so you can focus on what you do best
- A credible brand behind your name that attracts better clients, faster
- Pre-vetted creatives (photographers, editors, designers) to handle the content for you
- Higher-quality projects that pay well and respect your expertise
- Opportunities to scale your income without increasing your hours
- The freedom of freelance, with the resources of an agency
Who This Is For
- 2+ years managing social media accounts in a freelance or agency setting
- Experience in brand strategy, audience research, and content planning
- Strong copywriting and communication skills
- Comfortable managing clients and giving creative feedback to a team
