Your new role

My client are currently seeking a Freelance Site Manager to oversee two small reroofing schemes in Manchester. These are well-organised, short-duration projects requiring a proactive and reliable manager who can take full ownership of site activities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, has a strong grasp of roofing and refurbishment works, and can confidently manage trades, logistics, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily site operations across two roofing schemes
• Coordinate subcontractors, deliveries, and site logistics
• Ensure compliance with health & safety and environmental standards
• Maintain accurate site records and progress reports
• Conduct quality checks and ensure works meet specification
• Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and the team

What you'll need to succeed

• Demonstrable experience managing roofing or refurbishment projects
• SMSTS or SSSTS certification
• First Aid at Work
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple trades
• Own transport and mobile device for site reporting
• A proactive, problem-solving mindset
