Summary: The role of Freelance Site Manager involves overseeing the construction of a new purpose-built SEN school in Selby, starting in August 2025. The Site Manager will be responsible for day-to-day site management, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery of the project. This position offers an opportunity to work with a prestigious main contractor in the education sector. Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing site activities and subcontractor coordination
- Ensuring H&S compliance, quality standards, and timely delivery
- Conducting daily briefings and liaising with the PM and client team
- Managing site records and reporting progress
- Timber Frame Construction – including off-site manufactured panel installation
- External Works – hard and soft landscaping, pathways, car parking, drainage
- Sports Facilities – construction of associated outdoor amenities
Key Skills:
- SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold), First Aid
- Proven experience managing similar projects (education builds preferred)
- Strong knowledge of timber frame construction methods
- Ability to drive site performance while maintaining excellent communication
- Excellent knowledge of Tier 1 level H&S
