Summary: Phineas is seeking a highly skilled freelance designer with over 6 years of experience in the packaging industry to join their in-house team. The role focuses on creating hanging display products in recycled plastic and cardboard, requiring expertise in both 2D and 3D design. The designer will manage projects from conception to completion while collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting designs to stakeholders. This position offers a hybrid working arrangement with the expectation of attending the Bristol studio at least once a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop hanging display solutions and technical artwork
- Manage projects from conception to completion
- Collaborate with NPD, sales and marketing
- Work with manufacturers to provide technically sound solutions to budget
- Present designs to the Managing Director/Sales and Marketing team and contribute to strategic direction
- Create illustrations and renders for sales team to present to clients along with orders for prototypes and reviewing product testing results
Key Skills:
- 6+ years’ experience with a design based degree
- Proficient in 3D CAD generation and rendering, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
- Strong design skills, and illustration skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Experience in retail display in the packaging sector is ideal
- Confident and creative individual for presenting designs

We are seeking a highly skilled freelance designer with 6+ years of experience in the packaging industry to join our in-house team. This role requires expertise in creating hanging display products, in recycled plastic and cardboard in 2D and 3D forms. As a key creative team member, you will develop concepts, oversee design execution from ideation to completion, and ensure high-quality technical artwork. You should be confident in illustration and 3D CAD generation, with the ability to interpret briefs, manage projects independently, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

The role is hybrid and you would ideally be able to go in to our central Bristol studio at least 1 day per week. Initially you will be set individual projects to complete.
