Summary: The Freelance MEP Manager will oversee the mechanical, electrical, and public health services for a prestigious hospitality project in Central London. This role requires extensive experience in luxury hotel projects, focusing on high-quality standards and meticulous coordination. The successful candidate will manage the delivery team, ensuring that all aspects of MEP services are executed to the highest standards. This position is outside IR35 and offers a competitive daily rate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of mechanical, electrical and public health services from design through to installation and commissioning.
  • Oversee coordination between trades, identifying and resolving interface issues early.
  • Maintain and use the BIM model to track design progress and resolve clashes.
  • Work closely with the design team to review technical information, ensuring buildability and sequencing are optimised.
  • Input into commissioning strategies and integration of MEP works into the programme.
  • Supervise specialist trade contractors during installation, ensuring workmanship meets super-prime standards.
  • Monitor quality, progress and compliance with specification.
  • Act as a key liaison between the client team, consultants and trade contractors.
  • Provide proactive solutions and clear reporting on progress, risks and issues.

Key Skills:

  • Strong contractor-side MEP management background in the luxury sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of MEP design, installation, sequencing and commissioning.
  • Experience managing multiple packages and trades within a high-pressure, quality-focused environment.
  • Familiarity with BIM coordination and digital tools.
  • Proactive and hands-on approach – this is a delivery-focused role, not a desk-based review position.

Project Overview

We are seeking an experienced MEP Manager to join the delivery team on one of London’s most iconic super-prime hospitality projects. This project involves luxury interiors of the highest standard. Many of the materials and services are procured internationally, requiring meticulous coordination and attention to detail. Ideal candidates will have luxury hotel experience on projects where quality and precision are paramount.

Key Responsibilities

  • MEP Coordination
  • Manage all aspects of mechanical, electrical and public health services from design through to installation and commissioning.
  • Oversee coordination between trades, identifying and resolving interface issues early.
  • Maintain and use the BIM model to track design progress and resolve clashes.
  • Design & Pre-Construction Support
  • Work closely with the design team to review technical information, ensuring buildability and sequencing are optimised.
  • Input into commissioning strategies and integration of MEP works into the programme.
  • Delivery Oversight
  • Supervise specialist trade contractors during installation, ensuring workmanship meets super-prime standards.
  • Monitor quality, progress and compliance with specification.
