Summary: The Freelance FF&E Designer role focuses on delivering high-quality furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) packages for public areas within the hospitality sector. The position requires an experienced professional capable of working independently on refurbishment-led fit-out projects, contributing both creatively and technically. The contract is project-based, running from January 2026 to the end of April 2026, with an immediate start. The role is based in London and offers a day rate of £300.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop FF&E concepts, look & feel imagery, moodboards, and materials palettes
- Independently deliver Public Areas FF&E packages from concept through to issue
- Specify furniture, finishes, lighting, and accessories in line with design intent and budget
- Produce AutoCAD drawing packages, including FF&E layouts and schedules
- Draft joinery drawings of medium complexity
- Support design development using SketchUp
- Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal design teams
- Contribute to refurbishment-focused ID fit-out projects, ensuring buildability and technical accuracy
- Prepare presentation material using Photoshop and InDesign
Key Skills:
- Strong, demonstrable FF&E background within interior design / fit-out
- Proven experience delivering Public Areas FF&E packages independently
- Solid experience in ID fit-out, particularly refurbishment projects
- Excellent knowledge of materials, finishes, and supplier networks
- Proficient in: AutoCAD (essential), SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop & InDesign
- Ability to produce joinery drawings to a good technical standard
- Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable working at pace
