Summary: The role of Freelance Content Designer/Strategist involves supporting a leading financial services business in enhancing their brand voice through UX and product-friendly copy. The position focuses on auditing existing content, rewriting high-impact journeys, and creating a UX content system that accommodates both human and AI-generated content. This is a hybrid role requiring two days per week in the London office for a duration of three months. The position is classified as inside IR35, necessitating work through an umbrella company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit existing product content to understand effectiveness and areas for improvement.
- Rewrite a small number of high-impact journeys to establish quality standards.
- Create practical rules, patterns, and frameworks from rewritten examples.
- Develop a UX content system for daily use by designers.
- Shape guidance for both human and AI content generation, including templates and prompts.
- Collaborate with Product Design, Design Systems, and UX writers to integrate new processes.
Key Skills:
- Strong experience in content design or UX writing for digital products.
- Ability to translate brand voice into practical product content.
- Comfort with structuring ambiguous problems from scratch.
- Confidence in collaborating with design teams to influence direction.

We are working with a leading financial services business, looking for a Content Designer/Strategist to support how they bring their re-defined brand voice to life in their products & services - i.e. how does their tone of voice translate into UX and Product friendly copy. As an extension of this, there is a clear focus on making their new UX/Product copy for for AI, so that both designers and AI can generate high quality product content.
What you’ll do
- Audit existing product content to understand what’s working and where it falls short of the brand
- Rewrite a small number of high-impact journeys to demonstrate a clear, high-quality standard
- Turn those examples into simple, practical rules, patterns, and frameworks
- Create the foundations of a UX content system that designers can use day to day
- Shape guidance that works for both humans and AI, including templates, constraints, and prompts
- Work closely with Product Design, Design Systems, and other UX writers to embed this into how we work
What we’re looking for
- Strong experience in content design or UX writing for digital products
- Experience turning brand voice into clear, practical product content
- Comfortable starting from scratch and bringing structure to ambiguous problems
- Confidence working closely with design teams and helping shape direction
- Hands-on experience using AI in content workflows. You’ve experimented, learned what works and what doesn’t, and understand how to shape content, prompts, and rules so the output is consistent and on-brand
