Key Responsibilities:
- Undertaking condition surveys across primary and secondary school buildings
- Inspecting building fabric, external elements, and key building components
- Identifying defects, backlog maintenance items, and priority works
- Assessing condition and risk in line with agreed survey methodologies
- Producing clear, well-structured condition survey reports to set templates
- Working sensitively within live school environments
- Liaising with school site managers and programme stakeholders
Key Skills:
- Qualified Building Surveyor (MRICS or equivalent preferred, but not essential with relevant experience)
- Proven experience delivering condition surveys, ideally within education or public sector estates
- Strong technical knowledge of building fabric and defects
- High standard of written reporting and attention to detail
- Ability to manage workload independently across multiple sites
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Building Surveyor to support a schools condition survey programme across a portfolio of education assets in Manchester. This role would suit a surveyor with strong condition surveying experience within occupied buildings and familiarity with education estates.
