Join a growing Consultancy / Technology company experiencing exponential growth.
We're recruiting for an experienced Fractional Financial Controller to support a rapidly growing technology business developing innovative solutions for the UK Defence and Security sectors.
Working closely with the CEO and Senior Management Team, you'll play a key role in strengthening the company's financial controls, reporting and forecasting capabilities as it continues through an exciting period of growth.
Whilst the role carries a CFO title internally, this is predominantly a hands-on Financial Controller position. We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership of the finance function, producing accurate financial reporting and helping to build robust financial processes that can support a scaling business.
The Role
You'll take ownership of the company's financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, becoming a trusted advisor to the leadership team whilst ensuring the business has the financial insight needed to support commercial decision-making.

• Oversee the production of monthly management accounts
• Prepare annual budgets and maintain rolling forecasts
• Produce and maintain five-year financial forecasts and financial models
• Prepare monthly financial board packs and management reports
• Monitor cash flow and oversee day-to-day financial performance
• Develop and improve financial processes, controls and procedures
• Produce project costings and monitor project profitability
• Support commercial pricing and contract reporting
• Manage relationships with external accountants and service providers
• Ensure compliance with taxation and regulatory requirements
• Support fundraising activities and financial planning where required

Essential Skills
Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, ICAEW or equivalent)
Previous experience as a Financial Controller or Fractional Finance Lead
Strong experience producing monthly management accounts
Budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning
Financial modelling experience
Experience preparing board packs and management reports
Strong understanding of VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax and statutory reporting
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Experience improving finance processes within an SME environment
Nice to Have
Defence, Technology or Engineering sector experience
Project accounting experience
Experience supporting high-growth businesses
Fundraising or investment experience
Experience managing long-term commercial contracts
