Summary: The role of Fractional Finance Director involves serving as a senior strategic partner to the International CEO of a leading global media brand, focusing on financial planning and governance as the company expands internationally. The position requires a highly commercial finance professional with media sector experience, who can operate autonomously and influence decision-making at the board level. The engagement is flexible, requiring 2-3 days of work per week, with a competitive day rate. The role is UK-based with occasional travel to the US.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner directly with the US-based CEO and leadership team, supporting decision-making and long-term business planning.
  • Provide commercial finance support across content deals, production budgets, advertising revenue, and digital distribution partnerships.
  • Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes, with a strong focus on margin management, and cost control.
  • Ensure robust financial controls and governance are embedded from the outset, building a scalable finance infrastructure: improving systems, processes and reporting frameworks as the business grows.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities as the company expands into further international markets.
  • Maintain accurate intercompany reporting between the UK entity and the US parent, ensuring alignment between UK and US financial records, as well as managing relationships with external UK accountants, tax advisors, and auditors.

  • Highly commercial, with the ability to influence non-finance leaders and work comfortably at board level.
  • Experience working with or reporting into a US parent company, including intercompany reporting and US/UK financial alignment.
  • Familiarity with US GAAP alongside UK GAAP preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience in the media sector (content, advertising, streaming, or production) is a firm requirement.
  • Comfortable operating with genuine autonomy: able to prioritise high-impact work, build process from scratch, and communicate financial insight clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
