Summary: The role of Fractional Finance Director involves leading the finance team of a facilities services business in London during a transitional period, with a focus on optimizing processes and advising on long-term strategy. The position is part-time, requiring two to three days of work per week, and is intended for a 3-6 month engagement while a permanent replacement is sought. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with prior experience in finance leadership and a strong understanding of the challenges faced by similar-sized businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain robust financial controls
- Maintain complex pricing and modelling to ensure accuracy
- Hands-on with accurate cashflow forecasting
- Produce accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly management accounts, KPIs, and financial statements, to present to the Board
- Identify and implement improvements to financial processes
- Partner with the managing director and make strategic and commercial suggestions with financial backing
- Support & upskill the current finance team
Key Skills:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Previous experience as a finance leader (FD, Head of Finance, or CFO)
- Prior experience professionalizing a finance function
- Previous experience working within a similar size business (£20-£50m)
- Experience within the facilities management, service, or construction industries
- Prior experience working in a founder led business
Salary (Rate): £650.00 daily

The Client
Harmonic are delighted to be working with a facilities services business based in London to find them a Fractional Finance Director, to join on a 3-6-month engagement whilst they source and hire a longer-term permanent replacement. Currently with an annual revenue of £35m, they are looking to further establish themselves as a market leader in the area. Despite substantial recent growth, they still operate very much as a tight-knit start-up and are looking for someone who understands the trials and tribulations of a business of this type.
The Role
Our client requires a technically sound and commercially astute accountant to lead their finance team and partner with the C-suite during a period of transition. They aren’t just looking for someone who can manage the BAU, but also add significant value in a short amount of time by optimizing processes and advising on longer term strategy.

Day Rate: £550-£650 per day (Outside IR35)
Location: London (open to hybrid & onsite)
Start date: ASAP
Contract Length: 3 or 6 month (TBC)
