Summary: Zanda is seeking a Fractional CFO / Finance Director for a 6-month contract with a founder-led professional services consultancy. The role involves strategic oversight of the finance function, working closely with the CEO and leadership team during a critical growth period. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar role within a consultancy environment and will be responsible for financial planning, reporting, and team development. This position offers a flexible working arrangement of three days per week, including two anchor days in the London office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the finance function, providing strategic guidance and hands-on oversight.
- Act as a strategic business partner to the CEO and leadership team.
- Lead financial planning, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Present financial performance and insights to the board.
- Support commercial decision-making, pricing, and contract evaluation.
- Ensure robust financial controls, reporting accuracy, and compliance.
- Oversee monthly reporting, budgeting, and reforecasting processes.
- Manage lender relationships and ensure compliance with financial covenants.
- Support and develop the existing finance team.
- Maintain and optimise financial systems and processes (Xero).
Key Skills:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Proven CFO or Finance Director experience within a professional services or consultancy environment.
- Strong understanding of time-billing / fee-based revenue models.
- Demonstrated experience managing cash flow in smaller, growing businesses.
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on, fractional leadership role.
- Strong communication skills, with the confidence to present at board level.
- Personable, collaborative, and able to integrate quickly into a close-knit team.
- Prior experience working with founder-led businesses is advantageous.

The business has experienced steady growth and is seeking an experienced finance leader to provide strategic oversight, strengthen financial visibility, and support the leadership team through a critical period. Working closely with the CEO, founder, and senior leadership team, the Fractional CFO / FD will take ownership of the finance function, providing both strategic guidance and hands-on oversight.
