Forward Deploy Engineer, Hybrid/London, £700-£800 pd inside
Summary: The Forward Deploy Engineer role is a 6-month contract position based in London, requiring a candidate with strong communication skills and experience across the technology stack, including AI systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain common platforms, products, and tools for public services.
- Develop practical AI products, tools, workflows, and technical components.
- Work with users to understand needs, gather feedback, and improve solutions.
- Support end-to-end delivery from concept to implementation.
- Engage in deployment support and model integration.
- Utilize databases, APIs, and data pipelines effectively.
Key Skills:
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience in frontend and backend development.
- Proficiency in technologies such as Python, Wagtail, and Typescript.
- Product thinking and UX design skills.

The team is flexible when it comes to office attendance, however they encourage the new starter to be present in office more frequently at the beginning of the contract to support in settling in/getting up to speed with the work required
The team help build and maintain common platforms, products and tools for others to use and create great public services that are accessible. They develop practical AI products, tools, workflows and technical components for use across Government for the GDD/Cyber profession, Working with users to understand needs, gather feedback and improve solutions.
Skills/Experience
Strong communication skills, able to take it from concept to implementation and go through the whole life cycle
Frontend and Back End
Experience across the stack (eg Python, Wagtail, Typescript etc.)
Product thinking and UX design skills
Databases, APIs, data pipelines
Model integration
LLM workflows
Deployment support.
Background working within Government or Public Sector
End-to-end delivery, understanding the problem and building prototypes through to testing, documentation, deployment and iteration
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, candidates should have evidence substantial experience in this area, including use of AI systems
