Summary: The Fortinet SD-WAN Network Engineer will play a crucial role in transforming the global WAN environment for a prestigious Global Investment Bank. This position requires expertise in deploying and integrating Fortinet-based SD-WAN solutions while collaborating with various teams and third-party providers. The role demands strong technical skills, particularly in SD-WAN and routing protocols, along with excellent communication abilities. Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy and integrate Fortinet-based SD-WAN solutions.
- Collaborate with global teams, local IT support, and third-party providers.
- Manage the transition from traditional WAN technologies to SD-WAN.
- Ensure compliance with security and change control processes.
- Document processes and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet SD-WAN solutions.
- Previous experience deploying SD-WAN over traditional WAN technologies (eg, MPLS, leased lines).
- Solid understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), IP Addressing, and network segmentation.
- Experience in enterprise environments with strict security and change control processes.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Experience with Ipanema or other Legacy WAN optimisation technologies.
- Familiarity with global networks in regulated environments (eg, finance, healthcare).
- Exposure to network monitoring and management tools (eg, FortiManager, SolarWinds, PRTG).
- Relevant certifications (eg, NSE4+, CCNP, JNCIS).
- Experience with ITIL processes and best practices in a banking environment.
- Strong project management, organisational, and time-management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels.
- Disciplined work approach with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to travel within the EU/UK/Schengen area at short notice without significant visa restrictions.
