Summary: The Flight Software Test Engineer role involves testing software for spacecraft hardware and applications used by ground segment engineers. Key Responsibilities:
- Writing, conducting, and documenting tests on embedded and application software.
- Creating scripts for deploying software onto hardware.
- Writing test cases based on software requirements.
- Providing input to software teams during software specification development.
- Conducting software-driven testing of integrated spacecraft hardware.
- Performing operational testing of spacecraft as a whole.
Key Skills:
- Experience in using C and C unit tests.
- Understanding of embedded systems and programming devices (e.g., JTAG).
- Basic understanding of electronics (digital and analogue signals, communication protocols).
- Ability to understand and evaluate requirements.
- Experience in testing embedded and application software.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Robot).
- Understanding of version control (Git) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Team City).
- Experience in an Agile environment.
