Fixed Term Consultant Anaesthetist

Summary: The Fixed Term Consultant Anaesthetist position at North Bristol NHS Trust involves providing anaesthetic services across various specialties, including trauma and elective surgery. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide anaesthetic services across various specialties including trauma, elective surgery, and regional anaesthesia.
• Participate in the expanding regional anaesthesia service and support trauma and plastic surgery.
• Engage in clinical activities at the Colorectal Centre, Bristol Urology Institute, and other designated units.
• Contribute to the Major Trauma Centre and participate in the Stroke Thrombectomy Service.
• Involve in teaching and training medical undergraduates and postgraduates.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, colleagues, and staff at all levels.
• Participate in audit projects and demonstrate knowledge of contemporary NHS management issues.

Key Skills:

• Full GMC registration and CCT in Anaesthesia or nearing completion.
• Minimum of 6 years postgraduate experience, including 3 years as a registrar in an approved training post.
• Proven teaching ability and willingness to teach medical students and trainees.
• Experience with UK hospital systems and practices or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead a team and form effective working relationships.
• Knowledge of contemporary NHS management issues and political context.
