Summary: The Firmware Engineer role involves leading a legacy programme focused on designing, developing, and testing FPGA/Firmware products for an organization in Buckinghamshire. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and includes responsibilities such as firmware design architecture and verification activities. Candidates must have experience in the Electronic Warfare sector and be eligible for SC clearance. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement with three days on-site each week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Firmware/FPGA design architecture, modelling and configuration
- Producing firmware tests and relevant documentation
- Producing design review practices
- Working with cross-functional teams to resolve any technical issues
- V&V activities
Key Skills:
- Experience working on a large project/programme within the Electronic Warfare sector
- Full product lifecycle experience from system requirement, architecture, design, verification through to production
- Extensive experience of the production of FPGA firmware within Software Defined Radio/EW/surveillance systems and communications
- Design, coding, debugging and testing high-speed systems
- Exposure to VHDL & Xilinx
- Experience of processor system block design, schematic design, IP integrator, and VHDL firmware development
- Experience of developing firmware I&Q signal processing, digital filter design and frame-based sample streaming
- Experience of implementing efficient resource and time-critical firmware on latest technology ultra-large FPGA and SoC FPGA devices with multi ARM processors
