Summary: The Fire Extinguisher Service Technician role at Morgan Fire Protection involves servicing and maintaining portable fire extinguishers in compliance with British Standard Guidelines. Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out the servicing and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers.
- Install, service, and maintain portable fire extinguishers in line with current British standards.
- Plan and complete call visits within the designated region for maximum efficiency.
- Build professional relationships with a wide client base.
- Manage area planning to maximize travel time and time on customer premises.
- Perform scheduled and reactive maintenance in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding system/equipment status.
- Liaise with Service Administrators to meet customer needs.
- Manage and secure vehicle stock, tools, and equipment.
- Conduct full surveys of customer sites for fire equipment and signage.
- Approach training positively and complete all duties.
- Travel and some stopovers expected during training and busy months.
Key Skills:
- Experience in fire extinguisher servicing with relevant qualifications.
- Good knowledge of BS5306 parts 3 and 8.
- Technical background in the Mechanical Fire industry.
- Experience in front-line customer service.
- Qualified to BAFE / FETA or equivalent with ongoing refresher training.
- Ability to work unsupervised and problem-solve.
- Flexibility to travel for work and training.
- Experience in other Mechanical Fire Systems is advantageous.
- Computer literate with knowledge of email, Word, Excel, and PDA/iPad/smartphone.
- Basic knowledge of maths for calculating fire ratings.
- Ability to create quotes and recommendations for customers.
- Full driving licence.

Our Fire Extinguisher Service Technicians Carry out the servicing and maintenance of Portable fire extinguishers. All equipment will be provided to allow high standards of service, installation and maintenance of Portable fire extinguishers in line with the Current British Standard Guidelines.

- Experience in fire extinguisher servicing, hold a qualification to prove competence and have good knowledge BS5306 parts 3 and 8.

- Experience of front-line customer service.
- Previous experience of maintaining fire extinguishers is essential.
- Qualified to BAFE / FETA or equivalent, and ongoing refresher training every three years with certificated evidence.
- Ability to work unsupervised with the capability to problem solve.
- Flexibility to travel for work and training when required
- Experience in other Mechanical Fire Systems would be advantageous.
- Must be computer literate and be conversant with email, Word, Excel and be able to work with a PDA/iPad/smartphone.
- Must have a basic knowledge of maths and be able to calculate fire ratings.
- Must be able to create quotes and recommendations to send to the customer.
