Summary: The role is for an experienced Indirect Tax specialist to cover a paternity leave within a leading Banking organization's Indirect Tax team for a fixed-term contract of 7 to 8 months. The candidate will provide VAT advisory services, manage relationships with HMRC, and support various tax-related processes. The position requires a start in mid-June and will last until the end of January 2027. The ideal candidate should have significant experience in VAT advisory and project work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide timely, accurate and business-focused VAT advice in relation to transactions, projects and new products.
- Provide additional specialist input and support, including quarterly VAT instalment payment process and settlements and elections with HMRC.
- Prepare reporting entities and support the tax account ledger management and reconciliation process.
- Provide complex technical advice on all VAT matters and opine on VAT risk for the business.
- Assist in management of the indirect tax relationship with HMRC and other fiscal authorities.
- Help to maximise the VAT recovery position of the organisation.
Key Skills:
- Significant experience in VAT advisory and project work.
- Expertise in partial exemption and negotiations with HMRC.
- Ability to provide complex technical advice on VAT matters.
- Strong understanding of VAT risk management.

We are looking to fill a 7/8 month fixed term contract assignment for a leading Banking organisation to cover a paternity leave within their Indirect Tax team. The ideal candidate will be available to start the assignment in mid-June and work until the end of January 2027. They will be an experienced Indirect Tax specialist with significant experience gained in VAT advisory and project work, partial exemption and negotiations with HMRC.
Within this role, you will:
