Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the small finance team, managing all day-to-day accounting activity.
- Financial and management reporting including the monthly Board pack.
- Own the budgeting and forecasting process (including WIP), understand and report on all variances.
- Deliver deep dive financial analysis and commercial insight to guide decision-making.
- Provide input and support on various commercial activities, such as pricing.
- Assess and implement processes and systems improvements to enhance controls and efficiency.

I am recruiting a hands-on Finance Director for a c£5m turnover media client. This hire will initially be on a six-month fixed term contract basis. Ideally an immediate start. Reporting to the CEO you will oversee all financial activity (Financial Control, Financial Reporting and FP&A) and act as the key business partner to the CEO and rest of the Senior Leadership Team to help drive business performance.
Your responsibilities will be varied, as is the case in a dynamic, SME media environment, but will include:
- Lead and develop the small finance team, manage all day-to-day accounting activity.
- Financial and management reporting including the monthly Board pack.
- Own the budgeting and forecasting process (including WIP), understand and report on all variances.
- Deliver deep dive financial analysis and commercial insight to help guide and drive the decision-making process.
- Provide input and support to the business on various commercial activities i.e., pricing.
- Assess and where necessary implement processes and systems improvements to improve controls and efficiency.
Your profile:
- A qualified Finance Director with a broad range of financial and commercial experience.
- Able to operate effectively in a hands-on capacity in an SME environment reporting to a CEO.
- Media (or related sector) experience. This must be an environment that you excel within and can navigate your way through.
- Continuous improvement mind set including systems, processes and people.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Interpersonally you must be charismatic, influential and credible; a great relationship builder.
- Available immediately or at short notice.

Hybrid working – 3 days in the office (Farringdon) / 2 days remote.
Base salary range: £100,000-£130,000.
