Summary: The Financial Controller role at a successful plant hire firm in Edinburgh involves leading financial operations for a 6-month period. The position requires the preparation of financial reports, oversight of budgeting and forecasting, and providing strategic financial insights to senior management. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the firm's goals
- Oversee the budgeting and forecasting processes for all financial operations
- Prepare and present financial reports including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements to senior management
- Analyse the performance of the financials and provide commentary and insights to the board and senior management
- Provide financial insights and guidance to support strategic business decisions
- Assist the senior leadership team to develop short, medium, and long-term financial plans
- Be the key contact point for all external stakeholders
- Handle all budgeting and forecasting for the year
- Manage ad hoc projects as requested by senior management
Key Skills:
- Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 5-8 years PQE
- Experience of Great Plains is beneficial
- Proven experience as a finance leader
- Experience of managing teams
- Strong communication and Excel skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional leadership and communication abilities
