Summary: Venesky-Brown is seeking a Finance Analyst for a public sector organization in Melrose for an initial 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension. The role involves processing finance data into actionable insights to aid strategic financial planning and support ongoing reporting needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Support and process finance data within ledgers and systems.
- Transform finance data into meaningful information for strategic financial planning.
- Assist with business-as-usual (BAU) reporting needs.
Key Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, charts, graphs, and tables.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Teams.
- Exposure to finance systems.
- Excel spreadsheet modeling and analysis using formulae (desirable).
- Proficiency in Power BI (desirable).
- Experience with E-Financials (desirable).
- Familiarity with Boxi (desirable).
- Proficiency in relevant public sector systems (desirable).
- Management accounting experience, including draft report-writing (desirable).
Salary (Rate): £325 daily

Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Melrose, is currently looking to recruit a Finance Analyst for an initial 6 month contract with possible extension on a rate of £275-£325/day (Inside IR35). To support and process finance data within ledgers & systems into meaningful information to support strategic financial planning as well as support BAU reporting needs. Hybrid/remote working with occasional onsite meetings.
Essential Skills:
- Microsoft Excel proficiency incl. pivot tables, charts, graphs, tables.
- Microsoft Teams proficiency.
- Finance systems exposure.
Desirable Skills:
- Excel-spreadsheet modelling and analysis using formulae
