Summary: The Financial Analyst role in Glasgow is a 12-month hybrid contract focused on financial risk management and collaboration with senior leaders. The position involves leading financial governance processes, overseeing financial reporting, and coaching the finance team. The analyst will also engage in business planning and consult on technology use in finance. This role requires significant post-qualification experience and strong commercial acumen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct finance and corporate governance processes in accordance with regulations.
- Leverage business acumen to suggest strategic options.
- Oversee financial accounting, analysis, and reporting activities.
- Produce insightful management reporting and analysis.
- Coach the finance team in core financial and analytical activities.
- Create policies for internal financial control and challenge stakeholders.
- Lead the business planning process through strong business partnering.
- Consult on technology and information systems for finance.
Key Skills:
- Significant post-qualification experience with relevant accounting institution (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW).
- Thorough knowledge of risk management and governance procedures.
- Strong commercial experience with investment regulations understanding.
- Experience balancing stakeholder expectations with business needs.
- Expansive experience in multiple financial disciplines.
- Ability to identify and advise on alternate sources of business finance.
- Experience in influencing senior stakeholders and conflict resolution.
- Experience leading and motivating a team.
- OPEX experience preferred over banking.
