Summary: The role of Finance Analyst involves supporting a public sector organization in Edinburgh until November 2025, focusing on financial analysis, data management, and project support. Key Responsibilities:
- Inputting information (financial models, budgets, management accounts) onto PortF.
- Keeping track of outstanding information on PortF and flagging/chasing Portfolio Management Lead for outstanding data on a monthly basis.
- Helping/supporting with ongoing PortF improvement project.
- Helping to track companies against relevant financial forecasts.
- Flagging when companies are off track and assisting Portfolio Management Lead in performing deep dives to ascertain why companies are off track.
- Helping with ongoing exit analysis for companies in the portfolio (including exit valuation analysis).
- General admin support to ensure Salesforce and SharePoint are all up to date as well as helping to update KYC checks.
Key Skills:
- Experience in financial analysis or portfolio management, including familiarity with financial modelling, budgeting, and interpreting management accounts.
- Proficiency with data entry and management systems, particularly financial platforms like PortF (or similar portfolio management tools), Salesforce, and SharePoint.
- Attention to detail and organisational skills, enabling effective tracking of outstanding data, documentation, and follow-ups with internal stakeholders.
- Understanding of key financial indicators and forecasting, with the ability to support performance monitoring and highlight variances or risks in company performance.
- Exposure to investment or corporate finance processes, particularly experience supporting exit analysis or valuation assessments.
- Project support experience, ideally within a financial or systems improvement context, showing ability to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Working knowledge of compliance requirements, including supporting Know Your Customer (KYC) processes and maintaining up-to-date records.
