Summary: The Finance Cost Analyst role is a 12-month fixed-term contract focused on cost management and reporting within a rapidly growing Financial Services business. The position involves partnering with senior leaders to provide in-depth analysis and support for new business initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, particularly in FP&A or management accounting, and will be responsible for producing cost reports and managing relationships across the business. This role requires excellent communication and project management skills to drive efficient company growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the budget and forecast process to drive efficient company growth.
  • Produce excellent cost reporting and tracking of commercial objectives using agreed KPI’s.
  • Manage and develop relationships with the business, facilitating regular dialogue between business areas and Finance.
  • Support the monthly close process for cost accounting/reporting.
  • Provide full lifecycle cost support for change initiatives e.g. new investments and benefit tracking.
  • Partner with business leaders to propose cost solutions, deliver presentations, and contribute to developing Expense Business Partnering Strategy.
  • Help ensure costs are maintained within agreed budgets and controlled.
  • Actively contribute to process improvements and other Finance projects.

Key Skills:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, or ACCA) with a strong academic record.
  • Previous experience in FP&A, Finance Business Partner, or Management Accounting role.
  • Strong communication skills and Finance Business Partnering experience.
  • Established knowledge of budgeting and forecasting.
  • Experience of cost management framework and reporting.
  • Understanding of Financial Services cost bases.

FINANCE COST ANALYST - 12mth FTC

Essential experience: Cost/Expense + reporting/analysis + Financial Services

£60,000 - £75,000 + package (incl. 20% bonus)

12 month FTC contract

Offices: City of London 3 days p/wk, rest WFH

Pear Talent is representing a rapidly growing Financial Services business who have just completed a record transaction and launched a new 3yr investment platform programme. You'll support the Finance Business Partner on cost management and reporting, as well as providing in-depth analysis to inform new business initiatives (eg. new investment business case). You’ll business partner with senior leaders helping them understand, plan, and take accountability for the costs in their areas. You’ll be expected to be able to quickly gain credibility with senior stakeholders and own key business relationships, as well as demonstrate first class project management and communication skills. Work is often ad-hoc and project based.

Required experience:

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant ACA, CIMA or ACCA with a strong academic record and previous experience in a similar FP&A, Finance Business Partner or Management Accounting role, ideally including cost/expenses within Financial Services but not essential. Strong communication skills and Finance Business Partnering experience Established knowledge of budgeting and forecasting. Experience of cost management framework and reporting. Understanding of Financial services cost bases.
