Operations Analyst - Entry to Investment BankingLocation: Belfast (3 days onsite, 2 days from home)Contract Duration: 11 monthsThe Operations Analyst role involves working in the Asset Servicing team, the group responsible for the management of mandatory and voluntary Income and Corporate Action events, across equity and fixed income products. These include cash distribution events such as cash dividends/coupons, or the exchange of stock and cash on more complex corporate actions like rights issue or takeovers. The team is responsible for ensuring any proceeds from these income or corporate action events are posted to our clients and trading desks in both an accurate and timely manner. The overall objective of this role is to ensuring mandatory corporate actions events are reconciled and posted to entitled holders and the investigation of any issues that may arise. You will be responsible for escalating any issues identified, work in a team environment and help to identify potential system and process improvements. This involves working with data, investigating, and resolving problems and communicating with colleagues, to complete transactions. Working within a fast paced, operational environment means that your skills and activity really counts towards your team s ability to achieve their objectives. Responsibilities: - Execute daily assigned activities in efficient way, adhering to set internal or regulatory deadlines. Ensure processes have been followed and confirm completion of workplan each day. - Investigate any issues that may arise and direct to the appropriate department and collaborate on solutions. - Support the preparation and submission of internal and external regulatory reports. - Identify procedure gaps and make suggestions for process transformation including reducing manual processes. - Apply a good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the wider team/working group. - Effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders, with whom you may exchange potentially complex/sensitive information to progress work and resolve issues. Qualifications/Experience: - Evidence of ability to perform multiple tasks and work towards deadlines. - Able communicator who is articulate and concise and can demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to perform a range of tasks/projects and assist with the training of other team members in process and systems compliance. - Comfortable working in a team environment and using own initiative in recommending improvements to existing processes. - Able to drive own performance and willing to learn. - Can manage time effectively. - Has a creative and structured approach to problem solving. - Proficient in MS Office (Excel and Word) - Self-reliant, good problem solver, and results oriented. - Strong attention to detail. - Ability to partner with other teams to provide innovative solutions. - Relevant experience preferred but not necessary.
