Financial Analyst

Summary: The role of Financial Analyst is a 6-month fixed-term contract within the management account team at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing income and expenditure for a specific area, providing financial advice, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The position requires a qualified individual with strong communication skills and the ability to analyze complex financial data. Knowledge of Welsh is desirable but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and manage all aspects of income and expenditure for a specific Area/Division or Executive Directorate Budget.
• Provide professional assistance and financial advice to managers, investigating complex financial variances.
• Ensure all income, expenditure, and invoices are processed in accordance with procedures and accounting standards.
• Provide timely and accurate financial management information within tight deadlines.
• Coordinate with colleagues across the Finance Department and wider Health Board to ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements.

Key Skills:

• AAT qualification or equivalent experience/qualification.
• Significant experience in a finance environment.
• Proficiency in computerised financial management systems and controls.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work within strict deadlines.
• Strong skills in spreadsheets and PC-based office applications.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data.
• Desirable: ECDL Qualification and ability to communicate effectively in Welsh.
