Summary: The Corporate Finance Advisor role at a Local Authority in Cheshire involves leading strategic financial services and ensuring compliance with financial standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to the Chief Finance Officer on the Medium-Term Financial Strategy and statutory duties.
- Lead the preparation of balanced annual budgets and financial reports.
- Oversee the Reserves Strategy, Capital Strategy, and Treasury Management Strategy.
- Ensure effective financial governance, risk management, and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Lead the preparation of the annual Statement of Accounts and manage technical accounting advisory services.
- Liaise with external auditors and agencies.
- Develop and implement Finance Procedures and provide advice on financial delegation.
- Support senior management in budget management and forecasting.
- Manage and motivate the finance team, promoting financial systems and staff development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, governance, and continuous improvement.
