Summary: The Financial Accountant will join a growing accountancy team in Sutton, responsible for overseeing statutory accounts, financial returns, and compliance with various regulations. The role includes advising directors on taxation law, managing audits, and improving financial processes. The successful candidate will be ACA/ACCA qualified with relevant experience. This position offers a hybrid working arrangement with a focus on strategic financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the production and preparation of statutory accounts in adherence to DfE and EFA guidelines.
• Lead the preparation and submission of financial returns to DfE, EFA, SFA, and other relevant organizations.
• Develop benchmarking reports for value for money analysis.
• Ensure compliance with VAT returns, Gift Aid claims, and Corporation Tax returns.
• Advise Directors/Trustees on Company and Taxation Law.
• Prepare and present reports on Financial Compliance to Committee meetings.
• Collate reports for year-end regarding pensions and fund balances.
• Provide regular pension updates and negotiate future rates at triennial valuations.
• Drive improvements in statutory and management accounts processes.
• Oversee all audit processes and maintain audit finding feedback reports.
• Update and ensure adherence to financial regulations and procedures.
• Monitor the Trust's cash flow and investments, advising on investment policy.
• Implement an integrated finance system supporting service delivery.
• Support and challenge the Director of Finance and CFO.

Key Skills:

• ACA/ACCA qualification.
