Summary: The Financial Accountant role involves leading and coordinating financial and statutory reporting for a regulatory body in Manchester. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare annual reports and accounts.
• Consolidate the preparation of monthly management accounts, including forecasting and variance analysis.
• Manage the capital budget by liaising with IS and Facility managers.
• Maintain an accurate fixed asset register, including capitalisation of new assets and calculation of depreciation.
• Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Input into the design of a new capital asset module as part of a new finance Enterprise System.
• Contribute to the continual improvement of financial processes, controls, and reporting.
• Understand and apply safeguarding policies.

Key Skills:

• Full membership of an accounting body recognized by the Financial Reporting Council.
• Experience in collating financial statements and ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks.
• Experience in consolidated reporting and preparing budgets and forecasts.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
