Summary: The Financial and Management Accountant will support the Finance Manager and finance team in daily accounting tasks, system implementation, and contributing to the finance function. This role involves preparing management accounts, managing ledgers, and ensuring accurate reporting for a property firm. The position is a 12-month contract based in London, with a salary range of £70,000 to £75,000 depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare quarterly management accounts and year end accounts
- Manage and maintain the profit and loss ledgers and balance sheet
- Monitor the customer, vendor and intercompany accounts regularly for any unresolved issues and deal with them promptly
- Review, check accuracy and input income and expenses report data from the property management agency into the ledger
- Work with the property management finance team to resolve any errors in their reports or supporting documentation
- Monitor actual spend against budget where applicable
- Preparation of financial statements and assist with year-end audit
- Reconcile the control accounts and review the intercompany balances for accuracy
- Approve supplier invoices for accuracy and validity
- Prepare and submit VAT returns, and reconcile the VAT ledgers
- Maintain fixed asset registers
- Liaise with third party suppliers to resolve invoicing queries

The role of the Financial and Management Accountant will be to support the Finance Manager and finance team with the day-to-day accounting, implementing systems, and initiating ideas to contribute positively to the finance function, as well as ongoing input to facilitate the preparation of the annual accounts and other statutory reporting requirements.
