Job Title : Interim Financial Accountant Location : Leicester Salary : 300 per day (depending on experience) Contract : Interim, Full-Time Job Description : We are looking for an experienced Interim Financial Accountant to join a reputable business based in Leicester. This role offers an exciting opportunity to assist the finance team by managing key financial accounting activities on an interim basis. The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial accounting and reporting, and will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and supporting with the month-end close process. Key Responsibilities : Prepare and assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and company policies. Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes. Assist with the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, ensuring all items are accurate and up to date. Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations. Support with the management of fixed assets, accruals, and prepayments. Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and forecast reports. Review and ensure accurate accounting for any journal entries. Liaise with external auditors during the interim period, ensuring all necessary documentation is provided for audit purposes. Assist in the preparation of management reports, providing clear and actionable financial insights. Collaborate with other teams to ensure effective financial reporting and controls. Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support to the finance team and management. Requirements : Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). Proven experience as a Financial Accountant, ideally in an interim role. Strong technical accounting skills and solid understanding of UK GAAP and tax regulations. Experience with financial systems and proficiency in Excel (Advanced level). Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines. Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with various stakeholders. Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Previous experience in preparing VAT returns and balance sheet reconciliations is a must. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
