Summary: The Finance Accountant role is a 6-month fixed-term contract based in Leeds, requiring the management of a small team while providing financial advice and support to Capital Programme Managers. The position involves overseeing the Fixed Asset Register and producing complex accounting reports in line with capital procedures. The role emphasizes sustainable financial improvement through effective capital investment planning. The Finance Accountant will report directly to the Head of Finance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a team of 2
- Providing support with the Fixed Asset Register (CARS) in terms of data cleansing exercise, asset verification, disposal of assets, reconciliations to the General Ledger.
- This will include the provision of financial analysis and information to support the programme leads understanding of current spend and assist in the development of short and long term capital plans.
- They will also be responsible for the productions of accurate, highly complex accounting information and reports in accordance with the capital procedures.
- Promote their active engagement in delivering a sustainable financial improvement through the planning and delivery of capital investment to meet objectives.
- Any other ad-hoc tasks relevant to the role.
Key Skills:
- Ideal candidate will be either Qualified or Part Qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent
- Experience of working within a finance function and liaising with finance and non-finance staff to resolve issues.
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications including Excel.
- Knowledge of capital finance including specific capital requirements and accounting practices within a public sector organisation

Finance Accountant required for one of our Public Sector Organisations for a 6 month FTC based in Leeds. The Finance Accountant will report into the Head of Finance and will be responsible for managing a team of 2. The Finance Accountant will be responsible for the day to day capital financial advice and provide support and guidance to Capital Programme Managers.
