Summary: The Financial Accountant role at a leading Aerospace organization in Filton involves delivering fixed asset financial information for a newly established company with a turnover of approximately £400 million. The position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work across different sites while ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial data. The individual will also support fixed asset activities for the current company and contribute to process improvements. This hybrid role includes both on-site and remote work, emphasizing collaboration with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with due diligence on the opening balance sheet for the new company.
• Load assets into SAP with the correct data attributes.
• Define and document key financial processes and controls.
• Ensure internal controls are in place in line with company ERM requirements.
• Accurately record fixed asset additions, disposals, and depreciation.
• Provide advice on capitalisation rules and depreciation policies.
• Cleansing the asset register through regular data checks and oversight of physical verification.
• Provide information to the tax team for annual tax computations.
• Contribute to internal and external audits.
• Review processes and procedures to identify and implement improvements.
• Support key controls such as Entry into Service validation and capex/opex checks for the current company.
• Provide accurate data for physical verification exercises.
• Contribute to transnational and local projects, including harmonisation of group processes.

Key Skills:

• Qualified Accountant with experience in an accounting team.
• Understanding of IFRS and UK GAAP reporting requirements.
• Knowledge and experience in SAP or equivalent financial reporting tools.
