Summary: The role of Interim Financial Accountant in Edinburgh involves supporting the finance team during a transitional period by delivering accurate financial reporting and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. The position requires a hands-on professional capable of managing key year-end activities in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements
- Support statutory reporting and liaise with external auditors
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and tax regulations
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and support ledger reviews
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support business operations
- Contribute to process improvements and systems enhancements
Key Skills:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ICAS, CIMA, or equivalent)
- Proven experience in financial accounting and reporting roles
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS
- Proficiency with accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)
- Excellent attention to detail and time management
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Prior experience in an interim or contract role (desirable)
- Knowledge of Scottish business and regulatory environment (desirable)
- Comfortable working in both corporate and SME environments (desirable)
