Summary: The Financial Accountant role is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Doncaster, offering hybrid working arrangements. The position involves leading financial accounting activities, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and driving best practices in reporting. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the month-end close and reporting cycle
  • Prepare and submit statutory accounts, VAT returns, and other compliance reporting
  • Maintain a robust control environment in line with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
  • Act as the main point of contact for external auditors, coordinating audit activities
  • Support working capital management and lead weekly cashflow reporting
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and preparation of reporting packs
  • Maintain and reconcile financial ledgers, ensuring accuracy and clear commentary
  • Liaise with a third-party shared services team for month-end processing
  • Oversee payroll interfaces between HR and the external provider
  • Ensure compliance with group accounting policies, UK and US GAAP
  • Streamline and document financial processes to improve efficiency

Key Skills:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or qualified by experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of financial accounting principles
  • Confident communicator with experience presenting financial data
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance is desirable

The Role: Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the business’s financial accounting activities. This includes delivering accurate and timely financial information, ensuring compliance with statutory and internal controls, and driving best practices across reporting processes.
